BATRUN HOUSE | RESIDENTIAL | BATROUN, LEBANON

A skylight placed directly above the bed allows the users to see the stars while allowing natural light into the upper level during the day. The whole West façade is replaced by a continuous glass wall perfectly framing the Western view of the Mediterranean while giving the illusion that the 100 m2 house is endless on one side.

A vertical opening to the North side of the house, serves as access to the garden on the ground floor. Viewed from the bed on the mezzanine level, this opening frames the crest of the palm tree forest in the distance.

Acting as an extension towards the horizon line, the cantilevered bridge that runs through the length of the house and pierces through the glass façade. It spans from the house’s darkest core at the top of the stairs to its furthest point on the limits of the footprint and finally stops just 12 m above the waves.
